Places at Berwick TEC are highly sought after. We have a clear and open selection process because it is important to us you are well matched to your study choice and you have the best chance of success.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a place at Berwick TEC, by the commencement date of the course, you must:

• Be aged between 16 – 19 years old
• Have not yet completed a Year 12 or equivalent qualification (i.e. a course at the Certificate II level of study)
• Preferably have completed Year 10

Step by step guide to application and enrolment

VCAL, pre-apprenticeship and pre-vocational courses use the same enrolment process. Apprenticeship courses require an employer (see below).

VCAL, PRE-APPRENTICESHIP AND PRE-VOCATIONAL COURSES

Once you have decided on the course you want to do:

1. Download an Application for Enrolment form, or call us on 9212 4577 or 1800 THE TEC to mail a form out to you, or pick up a form at an Information Session. Then complete and return the form to Berwick TEC
2. Once we receive your application form you will be sent a letter confirming your application. The confirmation letter will give you a date and time to attend an interview and to sit an English and Maths evaluation. This lets both Berwick TEC and you know if you have the basic skills to cope academically with the course
3. Attend the interview with your parents/guardian and complete the English and Maths evaluation required. Bring along your most recent reports or letters of support for your application. You may also be requested to attend a group interview at a later date
4. You will be informed by letter or in person on the success or otherwise of your application into the course at the Berwick TEC in early November. If you are offered a place in the course of your choice, enrolment and payment of fee dates will be finalised. If your application is not successful Berwick TEC staff will give you some alternative options that may suit you better or assist you with reapplying at a later date
5. Courses commence in the February. Second round offers will be made in the January if vacancies exist

Filling in an application form does not guarantee a place in a Berwick TEC course but is required for eligibility for consideration in gaining a place. Enrolment into any Berwick TEC course is based on a variety of selection criteria.
